Andrew Gammage When I saw this band live the first time I was grateful to be alive again, when I saw them the second time their music felt like a hug, being too self aware, they gave me a true feeling of self worth!

Dr. Beaf Coming from the ranks of the likes of Butterfly Effect, SleepMakesWaves and Karnivool are this trio to help add/shape the Australian presence in great prog. Full of different dynamics, effective use of the piano, that tough classic grunge bass sound put to better use, nice added touch of polyphonic overtone singing (Mother) and layers of middle-eastern percussion. Good work all! Found in Alexander Grogans.

Azam Best post rock release this year in my opinion, the blend between peaceful and paced riffs and heavy sections keep you interested for a long time. Interesting layered drumming as well. Favorite track: Idiot Savant.
